Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon and one of the wealthiest individuals in the world, made headlines when he announced his engagement to Lauren Sánchez. This article aims to provide you with essential information about his fiancée, including details about her age, the engagement ring, and Jeff Bezos’ first wife.

Meet Lauren Sánchez: Jeff Bezos’ Hollywood Fiancé

Amazon founder Jeff Bezos (59 years old) is currently dating Lauren Sanchez (53 years old), and the couple are now engaged. Sanchez, born in Albuquerque in 1969, is a former broadcast journalist, helicopter pilot, and Emmy Award winner.

She co-hosted the Good Day LA chat show and appeared in movies such as “Fight Club,” “Ted 2”, and “The Longest aaYard”. Sanchez also launched her own aerial film and production company called “Black Ops Aviation.”

Bezos and Sanchez began dating in 2018 and went public with their relationship following his divorce. Sanchez was previously married to Hollywood agent Patrick Whitesell and has two children with him, as well as a son with former NFL player Tony Gonzalez.

Additionally, she serves as the vice chair of the Bezos Earth Fund, which focuses on climate change and environmental preservation. As of the latest reports, Sanchez has a net worth of $30 million

Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez’s Engagement Aboard a $500 Million Yacht

According to reports, the billionaire founder of Amazon proposed to his girlfriend of five years aboard his newly acquired $500 million sailing yacht named Koru. Although there haven’t been any official statements from the couple, it was hard to ignore the colossal diamond ring adorning Sanchez’s finger as they made their way through the Cannes Film Festival party circuit.

Experts estimate that the cushion-cut diamond, likely flawless, weighs between 20 and 30 carats and carries a price tag exceeding $2.5 million. Of course, for a man with a net worth of $156 billion, that amount is relatively insignificant. Unfortunately, no further details regarding the ring, the proposal, or any upcoming wedding plans are available at the moment.

Jeff Bezos’ First Wife: MacKenzie Scott, The Billionaire Philanthropist

Before Lauren Sánchez, Jeff Bezos was married to MacKenzie Scott. The couple tied the knot in 1993 and had four children together. However, they announced their separation in 2019, finalizing their divorce later that year. MacKenzie Scott became known for her substantial philanthropic activities following their divorce.

In July 2020, Scott announced that she donated $1.7 billion to 116 non-profit organizations, focusing on racial and LGBTQ+ equality, democracy, and climate change. She also gave more than $800 million to educational institutions and donated an additional $4.15 billion to 384 organizations by December 2020 to help with the economic impact of COVID-19.

In total, her donations for 2020 amounted to $5.8 billion. In mid-2021, Scott pledged even more money, reaching $8.5 billion in donations within a year. This included launching the Equality Can’t Wait Challenge alongside Gates. By February 2022, she had already donated $264.5 million to nine organizations.

Jeff Bezos’ Family: A Glimpse into His Personal Life

Jeff Bezos’s family consists of four children—three sons and an adopted daughter—from his marriage to MacKenzie Scott (formerly Bezos). The couple was married for 25 years before their divorce in 2019. While his marriage may have ended, Jeff Bezos remains a dedicated father and continues to be involved in his children’s lives.

Jeff Bezos’ Wealth: A Closer Look

As of late 2023, Jeff Bezos’s net worth is estimated to be approximately $156.6 billion. However, this figure fluctuates frequently due to changes in Amazon’s stock price and other investments.

He is currently the third wealthiest person in the world, behind Elon Musk and Bernard Arnault. Bezos earned his fortune primarily through his founding of Amazon.com, an online retail giant, which he started from a garage in Seattle in 1994.

He also owns The Washington Post and Blue Origin, a space exploration company. In 2021, Bezos stepped down as Amazon’s CEO, but he still owns over 10% of the company’s shares, which comprise most of his wealth.

With the exponential growth of e-commerce, Amazon’s revenue and fortune have seen significant increases. His wealth extends beyond his shares in Amazon, as his other investments also contribute to his net worth.

Despite stepping back from the operational side of Amazon, Bezos’s wealth will likely continue to grow, following the trend of the world’s super-rich.
